Hawassa University College of Medicine and Health Science Evangelical Christian Students Fellowship (HU-CMHS-ECSF)
Our fellowship was founded in 1997 E.C. by a small group of Christian students on campus. It began with three teams and today serves through seven. We are part of the Evangelical Students and Graduates Union of Ethiopia (EvaSUE).
Our aim is to help students grow in personal spiritual life, worship God together, and share Christ with the friends around them, and to equip every member to take an active part in the church after graduation.
New members choose a team after their first three months in the fellowship.
Shows love in practice through hospital ward visits, street children, needy families, and prison visits.
Bible-centered ministry: follow-up and basic teaching for new believers, Bible study coordination, and Daily Bread.
Leads and mobilizes evangelism on and off campus through personal sharing, Prayer-Care-Share, and outreach.
Leads worship through song and develops members in music, songwriting, and instruments.
Builds up the fellowship through written pieces, literature nights, and drama.
Mobilizes the whole fellowship to pray: daily devotion, lunch prayer, a prayer week, and fasting days.
Counseling and care: follows up on members who drift away, offers counseling (including via a Telegram bot), and lends spiritual books.
Digitals handles graphics, video, photo, and sound. The Fund committee raises resources, and the Mission committee organizes the annual mission trip.
Two days of games, worship, and fellowship for members.
The day we welcome new Christian students and bring them into the fellowship family.
At least once a year, over two to three days, with guest speakers and worship leaders.
Strengthening each batch, and sending graduating students off with prayer and certificates.
Three days of prayer, review, and planning, where the year's Big Picture theme is introduced.
Since 2013 E.C. we have sent missionaries to the Tsemay and Erbore areas of South Omo, where the gospel has not widely reached, and we run a mission trip every summer.
Our members come from many evangelical churches. Together we hold firmly to the core of the Christian faith.
